A Good Old Fashioned Fence Raising!

This past weekend was a busy one, at least for the males of the family. Peter gathered a working party consisting of his dad and brother (and Malachi) and got to work on a project that was much needed for our house - a new fence!

This fence survived JUST long enough. I can't count the number of nights this past winter where Peter was out in the pouring rain and wind tacking that thing up to make it through the winter. We weren't sure if it would make it, but thankfully it did and another yard project is complete!

Peter, his brother Andy, and Malachi pulled out their hammers Thursday night to get started on demolition!

Yes our fence was held up with a few pieces of ladice and string - CLASSY!

The men quickly got to work!

Okay, some of the men got to work while a certain little someone stood around looking pretty (and he is very good at that!)

Bye Bye Fence! It sure didn't take much work to get it to fall down :) The posts literally bent right in half and were rotten through.

On Friday afternoon, Peter and his brother got to work on putting in new fence posts and digging new holes as we were adding more fence to make the back yard bigger! This was a lot of hard work in the heat!

Yes, a certain little someone was having a great ole time while daddy worked hard!

After a lot of hard work on a warm day the yard was looking fabulous!

And boy were the men TIRED after all was said and done

But it is so nice having this project done! The very best part of the whole project is that now the fence extends over the windows in our living room so we have a lot more privacy!

The yard is definitely starting to look better. We have a few more small projects to complete this year and then we will save up to tackle some more large yard projects again next year.
