An Old Fashioned Anniversary

One of my favorite weekends growing up was our local town festival. 11 years ago on this festival day we got married.  We calculated back and this is actually the first year that we've had our anniversary fall on this specific Saturday.

We started the day bright and early at the parade. It has been a tradition my entire life as my grandma lives along the parade route.  It is fun to get to pass these memories on to my own kids.

It was a little bit hot!

After the parade we have a big family BBQ in my grandma's backyard. It was fun to see this year as that next generation of babies and kids is really taking over now! We multiply and multiply!

The day went from good to great as we headed home and got a nap before the kids went to grandma's house for the night so we could have some fun.  Starting with a delicious anniversary dinner in Portland!

And then my favorite part of the weekend, hanging out at the park, talking and listening to the music as we waited for the sun to go down and the fireworks to start!

Our small town sure knows how to put on an amazing fireworks show!

It was a really wonderful day starting with lots of family time in the morning and then a peaceful and wonderful evening with my man. Another memorable anniversary but the fun isn't over yet as we pack up for a few days here soon to continue the celebration!
