I felt like this was a fairly mild year for life events but I guess once I got looking at pictures it was a busier year than I thought! So, if you're ready, here we go!
We started the year off with a lot of fun new traditions! We have read 12 chapter books as a family this year. Our favorites being "The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe" "Anne of Green Gables" "The Green Ember" and "A Wrinkle in Time"
Another fun tradition we started is Sunday Tea Time. We sort of lost our way as the year progressed but the kids have been begging that we bring it back so we will be! It is a fun hour we set aside on Sunday's to snack on some treats and visit!
The home projects started with a little update of the girls bedroom.
I also started last year with a personal trainer and really upped my workout game, I was working out 6 days a week for an hour, getting a lot stronger and dropped almost 20 lbs in 2 months before those plans for the year changed a bit. As soon as Leeland turns 3 months, I will be picking those weights back up because I loved my workout time!
Eli turned 10, whew those milestone birthday's are rough on Mom!
We had a tiny little snowstorm over Valentine's weekend. It was the most snow we had all season even when we tried to find snow in Utah and Central Oregon.
But it was mostly an ice storm
We had a sweet little Valentine's Day
The boys got on the slopes a few more times and started getting better and better. They are really looking forward to getting back on ski's next week!
And I got my answer as to why I was so tired and "late". No, it was not from working out and eating so healthy! All we could do was laugh (until the morning sickness started)
We ripped apart our master bathroom
I celebrated my 35th Birthday! I was not feeling good at all so it was a very simple celebration.
We were mesmerized when we saw our Baby Boo! My heart will never forget seeing him wave his little fingers at us at just 9 weeks along!
We told the kids over Easter and they were soooo excited!
Easter 2021
Malachi turned 11
and Sabrina turned 9
We finally completed our huge master bath project and it was better than I could have ever hoped!
We escaped for a short trip to the beach in May
Sabrina wrapped up another year of ballet! I love how she dances all over our house!
We took a long postponed girl's trip with our little ladies. It wasn't somewhere grand but it was still pretty darn perfect and we had a blast spoiling them!
We got to see our little Baby Boo a few more times throughout the pregnancy and I really started to grow!
It was the hottest summer ever in our area so we gave our master bedroom a little update during the hot days.
The kids started another school year, most noteworthy Malachi started middle school
Peter celebrated his 35th Birthday
LB turned 7
And we escaped to someplace that has become pretty special to us for our 15th wedding anniversary!
We celebrated another family day
And escaped to our happy place in Central Oregon for a week
With summer coming to an end quickly, we tried to wrap up as many outdoor projects as we could. I say "we" but I was just there for moral support!
The boys played another year of soccer
Peter celebrated a much anticipated milestone at work
And we prepped for Baby Boo's arrival
Our little man arrived into the world in a fast and furious way! I never in my life thought I would have a natural birth but I did! It was so exciting balancing out the family with 3 boys and 3 girls!
And then a really hard twist in the story when he had to be transported to the NICU. It felt a bit like a nightmare again having my sweet new baby leave me again. Fortunately it was just for a couple hours!
Then it was onto the longest days ever! By the time I got to the NICU it had been over 48 hours since I had slept but my little guy was in so much pain and so agitated that he was very upset! Peter couldn't be with me and it was just hard!
We settled into a routine and Peter did an incredible job of taking over when my body couldn't handle anymore. After a long 4 days our boy was finally home and got to meet those excited big siblings!
Then onwards to Halloween, Leeland's due date!
Peter took on his next project, turning the girls bedroom (yes the one we just refreshed earlier in the year) into his office.
Sweet Miss Ayla turned 2!
And the transformation of the office/playroom into a room for 3 girls! This project will be ongoing into 2022.
Sabrina performed in another Nutcracker
And we headed off on one last little trip for the year to the beach for the week!
Peter completed (most) of his office project and he is all set to start his new job!
We celebrated Christmas!
And got a decent snow to end the year! Leeland was pretty excited about the snow!
